The Warning Watchdog™ Hardwired Condensing Unit Alarm System from iO HVAC Controls is a powerful security solution designed to protect outdoor HVAC condensing units from theft, vandalism, and refrigerant loss. Engineered for both split and packaged systems, this easy-to-install alarm system continuously monitors critical conditions and sounds a high-output siren when a problem is detected. The Warning Watchdog operates on 12V DC, uses standard 18-gauge thermostat wire, and automatically re-arms after power loss without false alarms. For additional protection, optional voltage monitoring relays and extra sirens can be added to customize the system for multi-unit installations.
The system triggers an alarm if refrigerant pressure drops, the electrical disconnect is pulled, or wiring is cut, helping deter copper theft and alert property owners or building managers before costly damage occurs.A single Warning Watchdog logic panel can monitor up to four condensing units, making it ideal for residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. At the core of the system is a lockable indoor logic panel with LED status indicators, a siren silence switch, and a built-in alarm cut-off timer. The outdoor 118 dB weather-resistant siren delivers an unmistakable alert, while auxiliary dry contacts allow connection to a central alarm system, phone dialer, or security device for expanded monitoring capabilities.
